Skippy Whistles

I wanted to use map papers that I have collected over the years in a creative way.
Incorporating them into my artworks has been a joy.
The title Skippy whistles refers to the Australian television series called Skippy about a kangaroo. When they needed to summons Skippy during the episode they would grab a gum leaf and put it to their lips and create a loud whistle sound.
My friends and I as children tried many times to recreate that sound but it remained fairly elusive!
I enjoy working with mixed media as it gives a painting wonderful layers of interesting dimension.
Skippy whistles would elevate any space in your home or office and it can be hung vertically or horizontally in a triptych configuration.
